Hawzah News Agency- Baghdad, Iraq – In a powerful address marking the days of Ashura and recent regional developments, Amin Abu Alaa Al-Walai, Secretary General of the Islamic Resistance of the Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades, hailed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s response to recent aggressions by the Zionist regime and the United States as a historic turning point for the resistance axis and regional power dynamics.
Offering condolences on the arrival of Muharram and the days of mourning for Imam Hussain (PBUH), Al-Walai said the legacy of Ashura continues to inspire resistance, sacrifice, and the pursuit of justice. “Ashura is our school of resistance,” he declared, “and it was from this source of inspiration that the resistance forces entered the battlefield with strength, forcing the enemy into retreat and dismantling their miscalculations.”
Enemy Forced to Admit Defeat
Al-Walai emphasized that the acceptance of a ceasefire by both the U.S. and the Zionist regime signaled their acknowledgment of military failure. “The aggressors entered this confrontation with the illusion of easy victory over Iran,” he said. “But they were confronted by the reality of Iran’s strategic power and the determination of the resistance.”
A New Era for Iran and the Region
The Secretary General described the recent 12-day conflict as a watershed moment in regional equations. “This marks the beginning of a new era,” he said, “one in which Iran stands at the forefront of regional deterrence.”
Highlighting Iran’s peaceful nuclear ambitions, Al-Walai declared: “By God’s grace, Iran is on the path to becoming a nuclear state with peaceful objectives, and the West’s plans for a so-called ‘new Middle East’ are destined to fail.”
Leadership and Popular Support Behind Victory
He attributed the Islamic Republic’s resilience to the leadership of Imam Khamenei and the steadfast support of the Iranian people. “Despite continuous attempts to incite internal unrest, the unity of the people and their loyalty to the leadership played a decisive role in this victory.”
Iran as a Civilizational Power
Al-Walai stressed that Iran is more than just a nation-state. “Iran is a civilizational project rooted in history, ideology, and values. It cannot be dismantled by assassinations or regime-change plots. It has emerged stronger and more unified in the face of a global conspiracy.”
Martyrdom of Sayyid Haidar Al-Moussawi: A Symbol of Resistance Unity
He paid tribute to the late commander Sayyid Haidar al-Moussawi and his son, who were martyred in a Zionist regime attack, calling their deaths a symbol of the deep connection between Iraq and Iran. “This martyrdom reaffirmed our shared destiny. We walk one path, raise one banner, and shed one blood.”
Al-Walai traced the roots of this solidarity back to the early Islamic era, from the bond between Imam Ali (PBUH) and Salman Al-Farsi, to the uprising of Mukhtar, and more recently to the martyrdom of General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.
Until the Liberation of Quds
Concluding his address, Abu Alaa Al-Walai reaffirmed the commitment of the resistance axis to the struggle for the liberation of Palestine. “We stand with the Islamic Republic today, and by God’s will, we will stand at the sacred feet of the Prophet (PBUH) in Quds tomorrow. The martyrdom of Sayyid Haidar confirms that we remain on the frontlines of jihad — and our journey will continue until Quds is free.”
